books and music that make you dumb?

This is very interesting. A Caltech graduate student has assembled a
list of Books and Music that make you dumb. It was compiled by taking
the average SAT scores of students of various colleges and then
determining the favorite books and musicians of students who attended
those colleges using Facebook data.

The author admits that these data
don't prove a causal relationship between intelligence and music and
that this is simply an association study. That said, if you like
Beethoven and Counting Crows you are likely to be an attendant of a
university with a high mean SAT score.
